Bipolar Bear - Mountain Dewd CD Structurally and melodically wayward, Bipolar Bear’s Mountain Dewd is an album that will deafen you with angular creativity. The album’s ingenuity is in its unyielding approach to defy the laws of music through renegade guitar and bass lines, with innovative rhythms that kick you in the brains in the best way possible, and vocals that are delivered staunchly. The tracks are about two minutes each in length which could keep the attention of a sugar-high six-year-old, and each song employs its own unique musicianship just incase you have no attention span whatsoever. This album is relentless in its desire to make you love this band, and regardless if you like it or not, you will require a new frontal lobe after this record gives you the best lobotomy anyone’s ever had. |

Manville - Gettin Freak Nasty 7" They're loud and they're a little dirty and they're probably kinda crude. This Boise five piece have been pounding out jams with songs titles like “Bun Battle” and “Taint, Maine” for over four years, and have no plans to stop anytime soon. The have toured the west coast and Canada with bands such as Love Songs, Humming Bird of Death. |

Hunting Lodge - Energy Czar CD/LP Hunting Lodge is the sound of idiot bearded children channelling scum-prog [on the selling room floor]; a twitching energy of freeform skronk, swaggering hi-life strut and anthemic prog concentrated into a sustained sugar tantrum of joyous macho excess - reclaiming pop for men with more body hair than sense. Energy Czar was engineered by John Stevens (responsible for Electric Wizard's massive "Dopethrone"), mastered at ear shredding levels by Weasel Walter of the Flying Luttenbachers helped along by the skronk saxing of Terry Edwards (Lydia Lunch / Gallon Drunk). |

Bipolar Bear - Man Mountain 12" Picture Disk. Los Angeles quartet that was founded by ex-members of The Manifolds, Rose for Bohdan, Amazing Custom Caravans, and various other outfits, plus current members of The Pope, the Bipolar Bear is hardly stable. Sometimes, the Bear hibernates, and sometimes the Bear gets all amped on caffeine and anti-depressants and beats dudes up at the local dive-bar. Swampy-ass guitar driven madness, with angular bass lines and some off-beat drumming create a sound to be reckoned with. "Man Mountain" will definitely attract people who is into bands like Monorchid, Skull Kontrol and Old Time Relijun. |

The Show is the Rainbow - Perfect Push 7" The Show is the Rainbow/Darren Keen is a one man band/producer/performer hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska. I have not seen Darren as a one man band to date, but when he came through Boise last year with a full band, The Show is the Rainbow blew me away. The Show is the Rainbow is an electro rock, big beat mentalists and the Perfect Push seven inch shows Darren’s creative in site to what rock records |

The Pope - Live Aids 7" The Pope is a two man bass/drum rock unit from LA who just so happen to lay down thick, riff-laden noise rock. And while comparisons with the likes of Godheadsilo, Lightning bolt & Unwound have been made, we here at Yosada think that's only just beginning to scratch the surface. Here The Pope offers up three loud, chaotic tracks without losing a total sense of melody. First they hit you with two short burst of pure liquid adrenalin, then they crush you with their five-minute opus "Aztec Pride". All in all, one of our most solid releases. |

Rah Bras - Whohm LP Rah Bras begin again with their latest album, WHOHM. For the last decade, the trio has been spelunking the nether regions of pop, pomp, and punk on a smattering of EPs and 2001's full-length, Ruy Blas!. Their genre-defying audio promiscuity has fermented into the anvil-drop-rock of 2005's WHOHM. Heavy synths grind and squeal upon pure propulsion as lyrics wax solipsistic over the cyclical nature ofall modren man's foists and foibles. With rogue song structures and plenty of surprises around every corner, Rah Bras continue to master the art of not boring themselves by subjugating the rock idiom to their every whim. Both bizarre and strangely accessible, WHOHM achieves the rare genius of genuine creation in a realm fraught with endless reference and carbon-copy replication of tired ideas.

Navies - An Estate 12" Originally released on Lovitt Records as a CDep, "An Estate" offers a brief and intriguing glimpse into a young trio brimming with intensity and precocious depth. Mining a vein of rich influences ranging from punk and post-punk to European psych-rock, Navies has crafted a work that uses these genres as mere touchstones to create a work which shines greater that the sum of its parts. |

PussyGutt/Monster Dudes - Split LP PUSSYGUTT is burly! Awesome and gender-balanced, these two totally kick out the Ruins/Sabbath jams with some techno punk drumming. Get your jean jacket and your dancing shoes!! MONSTERDUDES has more variety here than on their 7" with lots of switching of drummers, keyboards and vocals. The Dudes even get a little sentimental on this one. |
